The Gurukulam was established in the holy presence of respected Vedic scholars. Shri Gullapalli Ji was also honored with the “Bharatatma Ashokji Singhal Ideal Vedic Teacher Award – 2020” for his exemplary teaching.
For the past twenty-five years, this Veda school has been imparting complete and traditional education in the Krishna Yajurveda, Taittiriya branch. Students here are trained in a comprehensive manner, studying the Brahmana, Aranyaka, and Upanishads of the Krishna Yajurveda. They also learn the various advanced recitation methods of the Samhita, such as Pada, Krama, Jata, and Ghana. In addition, students study the Prasthana-trayi texts, Shrauta and Smarta scriptures, and traditional commentaries.
Through this Gurukulam, Shri Gullapalli Ji is firmly committed to preserving and promoting the Vedic way of life, including daily rituals and disciplined living as prescribed in the Vedas.
The Gurukulam has produced many Ghananta scholars who are now dedicated to teaching the Vedas in various institutions. Notably, the current teachers of this Gurukulam are themselves accomplished students of this very institution.
For its outstanding contribution to Vedic study and teaching, Shri Dattatreya Vedavidya Gurukulam has been awarded the “Bharatatma Ashokji Singhal Veda School Award” for the year 2025.
